Fasting is really healthy for you

Fasting makes our work simple as it provides no choices, no counting calories, and no cooking. So you can just say no to food and start fasting for quick weight loss and other health benefits. There are many types and reasons for fasting. Political statements, better health, weight loss, religious requirements, detoxification are such. There is lot of information regarding fasting and most of it contradicts each other. One says about it as good and the other says that it is injurious to the body and does not offer any real benefit.

Fasting is a safe and effective means of maximizing the body’s self-healing capacities. Fasting is the complete self discipline from all substances except pure water, in an environment of total rest. Fasting helps us to reset the body cells to neural thereby helping us to function properly and more efficiently. Some researchers say that temporary fasting or constraint of caloric intake can be beneficial to the body. Fasting does result in fat or weight loss.

But some doctors say that fasting is not a healthy weight loss tool because it is quick fluid loss but not substantial weight loss. The body is built to detoxify itself and has many organs designed to do just that. We don’t need to fast in order to detoxify your body. Fasting is not a long term solution to real weight loss but could be a good jump start to cleaning and detoxing your body. Fasting for weight loss carries other health risks as well. When we are healthy, fasting for a day or two is rarely a problem.
